Please read this before starting the E-tune process.
Even if your vehicle is or appears mechanically good, issues can pop up during the tuning process. Making sure your vehicle is ready for the tuning process will ensure it makes the most power. Rushing the tuning process will probably lead up to wasting money and time. This list will try and help you out before starting.
Check/change your oil
Starting tuning with low, old or dirty oil is not a good idea. This can cause catastrophic engine failure, change your oil before starting the tune.
Change your spark plugs
Change your spark plugs and don’t take for granted plug gap. Most of the spark plugs out of the box are not gapped. Most Mazdaspeed3/6 engines will run good with 0.025-0.028 gap. Check gap before installing new plugs. High power builds, contact us.
Check all vacuum hoses, clamps, hoses & couplers
Verifying this can help you keep boost/vacuum leaks in check. Making sure everything is clamped/zip tied will help you. You don’t want to pull to the side of the road to fix any related issues. Take a few minutes and check everything.
Compression test
Please do a compression test before starting the tuning process, this is the way of knowing you are tuning with a healthy engine. This test can also be added in the tuning form.
